Shere is a Surrey Hills village just off the A25 between Guildford and Dorking, about an hour from London via the A3. Popular with weekend visitors exploring the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it's connected by scenic country lanes to neighbouring villages like Gomshall and Peaslake. The village church of St James boasts a Norman doorway and an ancient yew tree over 1,400 years old.
