Shacklewell lies in Hackney between Dalston and Stoke Newington, reached via the A10 Kingsland Road running north-south through the area. The A104 provides east-west connections, whilst the North Circular sits 3km north for M25 access. Popular routes include short hops to Hackney Central and longer runs into the City via the A10. The Victorian Shacklewell Primary School still operates from its original 1878 site on Shacklewell Lane.
