Seton lies along East Lothian's coast, easily reached via the A1 from Edinburgh in about 20 minutes. The A199 coastal road connects it to neighbouring Prestonpans and Cockenzie, whilst the village itself sits just off the main trunk route. The 15th-century Seton Castle dominates the village, a striking tower house that once belonged to one of Scotland's most powerful noble families.
