Seaton lies where the River Axe meets the sea on Devon's Jurassic Coast, sheltered between red cliffs. The A3052 coastal road provides the main access, with most visitors arriving via the A35 from Axminster or longer routes from the M5. The town has over 20 EV charging points and serves as a useful stop between Cornwall and Dorset. Its narrow-gauge electric tramway runs through the Axe Valley to Colyton, following a Victorian railway route.
