Scots' Gap

England

England

Scots' Gap sits on the A696 between Newcastle and the Scottish Borders, about 25 kilometres northwest of the city. This small Northumberland village makes a convenient stopping point for journeys toward Kielder Forest or the border country, with local roads branching off to nearby Cambo and Wallington. The village gets its name from the medieval gap in the landscape that Scottish raiders once used as a route south.
