Scapa

Scotland

Scotland

Scapa sits on the southern shore of Scapa Flow, just 3km south of Kirkwall via the A964. This small settlement overlooks one of Scotland's most historically significant natural harbours, where the German High Seas Fleet was famously scuttled in 1919. Access requires ferry travel to Orkney Mainland, then local roads around the Flow's western edge. The harbour covers 312 square kilometres and once sheltered the entire Royal Navy fleet.
