Sarclet lies 8km south of Wick in Caithness, reached via the A99 and local roads branching off towards the coast. Long-distance visitors follow the A9 from Inverness, whilst locals use shorter routes to nearby Thrumster and Gansclet. The settlement sits on rolling terrain above the North Sea, with approximately 8 EV charging points available in the area. The name derives from Old Norse "Sarklettr," meaning "shirt-shaped headland," describing the distinctive coastal formation here.
