Sandymount sits 6 kilometres southeast of Dublin city centre, a Victorian seaside suburb known for its expansive beach. You'll get there easily via the N11 from town or the coastal R118 that runs along Dublin Bay through Ballsbridge. The R118 connects you to Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire if you fancy extending the coastal drive. At low tide, the beach stretches nearly 3 kilometres, revealing firm sand that's still used for training racehorses from the local stables.
