Sandbed lies in Greater Manchester's Pennine foothills, forming part of the Mossley area alongside Brook Bottom and Mossley Brow. Reach it via the A635 from Manchester through Ashton-under-Lyne, or take the shorter A670 route from Oldham (8km). The M60 Junction 23 provides motorway access 12km away, whilst the trans-Pennine A635 continues toward Huddersfield. The Former Municipal Baths building recalls the area's mill-working past.
