Salum sits on Tiree, the westernmost inhabited island of Scotland's Inner Hebrides, about a kilometre from Ruaig. Most visitors fly into nearby Tiree Airport or take the CalMac ferry from Oban to Scarinish, 6km away. The island's single-track roads connect all settlements easily.
