Rubery occupies Birmingham's southwestern fringe where the city meets Worcestershire countryside. The A38 provides the main route into Birmingham city centre, whilst the nearby M42 offers connections to the M5 and M40 for longer journeys. Popular local drives include routes to Longbridge and the scenic Lickey Hills Country Park. The village retains its identity around the historic Rubery Social Club, a red-brick community hub dating from 1923.
