Roundwood holds the distinction of being Ireland's highest village at 238 meters, perched along the R755 as it winds through County Wicklow's mountains. Most visitors drive up from Dublin via the N11 and Kilmacanogue, while locals often use the R764 from Laragh or the R759 from Ashford. The village draws golfers to nearby Druids Glen and Powerscourt courses, plus whiskey lovers to Glendalough Distillery. Its annual agricultural show has run every July since 1948, featuring prize livestock and traditional crafts.
