Roundstone perches on a sheltered harbor in Bertraghboy Bay, about 80 kilometers from Galway city via the N59 through Connemara's wild interior. From Dublin, take the M6 to Galway, then follow the N59 through Oughterard and Clifden before turning south on the R341. Many visitors come from Clifden, just 24 kilometers north, making it a handy day trip. The village sits among granite hills and peat bogs where the Atlantic meets the rugged Connemara coast. Roundstone is renowned for its traditional bodhráns, handcrafted at Malachy Kearns' workshop using techniques passed down through generations.
