Rose Ash occupies a quiet spot in mid-Devon's farming country, reached via the A361 and winding country lanes. Most locals make short trips to neighbouring villages like Bishops Nympton, whilst longer journeys head to South Molton or Exeter. The village retains one of Devon's last thatched post offices, still operating from the same building after 150 years.
