Roche occupies Cornwall's china clay heartland, surrounded by the distinctive white spoil heaps that characterise this former mining region. The A391 provides direct access from St Austell, whilst the A30 lies 10 kilometres north for longer journeys. The village sits beneath the dramatic ruins of a medieval hermitage crowning the granite tor of Roche Rock.
