Roanheads forms part of greater Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, reached via the A90 from Aberdeen then the A982 locally. The coastal settlement sits amongst several small communities including Kirktown and Clerkhill, all within walking distance of Peterhead's harbour and facilities. About 5 EV charging points serve the area, and small fishing boats still launch from the natural harbour at the headland's eastern shore.
