Roadwater is a small West Somerset village on the A39 coastal route between Minehead and North Devon. Most visitors arrive from Minehead (8 miles east) or via country roads from the Taunton area. The village sits where several old packhorse routes once carried supplies between the Brendon Hills mining areas and coastal ports. You can still spot remnants of the medieval stone water channels that gave the village its name along the ancient trackways above the settlement.
