Riverstown is a handy base in County Sligo, just 15 kilometres south of Sligo town via the N17. The N4 runs straight through to Dublin, about 200 kilometres away, while the R287 takes you through lovely countryside if you're coming from the south. Most locals nip up to Sligo town regularly for shopping and services, and the coastal road to Strandhill is grand for reaching the golf course and beaches. The big draw here is the Sligo Regional Sports Centre with its massive indoor waterpark - families come from all over the county for the pools and slides.
