Resipol sits on the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula, one of Britain's most westerly mainland settlements. Reach it via the A861 from Lochailort, following Loch Sunart's southern shore through dramatic Highland scenery. The single-track road from Fort William takes about an hour, demanding careful use of passing places. A small passenger ferry once ran from nearby Salen to Mull, making this a former island gateway.
