Redmain lies in west Cumbria between Cockermouth and the Lake District proper, reached via the A595 from Carlisle or Whitehaven. Popular routes include scenic drives from Keswick through fell country, whilst locals frequently travel to nearby Cockermouth and Workington. The village features several distinctive stone bridges spanning the becks that converge near the settlement.
