Ravensworth lies in North Yorkshire between Richmond and Barnard Castle, just off the A66 trans-Pennine route. Popular with day-trippers from nearby villages, it offers typical Dales scenery of rolling hills and dry stone walls. The medieval church of St. Peter houses a remarkably preserved rood screen, one of the few surviving examples in the county.
