Ramsgill nestles in upper Nidderdale, reached via the B6265 from Pateley Bridge through classic Yorkshire Dales scenery. The narrow valley roads require careful driving, particularly on single-track sections. Long-distance visitors often use it as a base for exploring the quieter northern Dales, whilst locals make short trips to neighbouring Lofthouse and Middlesmoor. The village is home to the Yorke Arms, a Michelin-starred country inn that's one of Yorkshire's most remote fine dining destinations.
