Queens Island lies in Belfast Lough, 4km east of the city centre via the A2 Sydenham Road. This industrial peninsula houses George Best Belfast City Airport and connects easily to Belfast's motorway network. The exposed position means it catches the full force of winds off the lough, whilst the flat, reclaimed land offers excellent views across the water. The airport runway extends almost to the water's edge, creating rather dramatic takeoffs over Belfast Lough.
