Quebec is a small County Durham village on the A691 between Durham and Consett, set amid former coalfield countryside. Most visitors arrive via the A1(M) and A167 from Newcastle, or directly along the A691 corridor. The village is named after a long-demolished pub, the Quebec Inn, which commemorated 18th-century British victories in Canada.
