Quarter lies in South Lanarkshire between Hamilton and the M74, easily reached via Junction 6. The M74 connects it to Glasgow (20km north) and England, whilst local roads link neighboring settlements like Meikle Earnock. Over 200 EV charging points serve the Hamilton area. The village's name derives from being one-quarter of the medieval Barony of Cadzow.
