Puncknowle is a proper Dorset village tucked into the Bride Valley, about 15 minutes from the coast. Reach it via the A35 from Dorchester, then wind through country lanes past Long Bredy. The narrow roads demand patience but reward with proper countryside views. The 16th-century Crown Inn remains the village heart, complete with thatch and beams.
