Puckane is a small village on Lough Derg's western shore in Tipperary, reached via the R494 from Nenagh, about 15 kilometres away. From Limerick, take the N7 to Birdhill then follow local roads north along the lake for 25 kilometres total. Dublin drivers use the M7 to Nenagh then the R494, making it a two-hour journey. The village's stone harbour pier, over 150 years old, serves as a launching point for boats and hosts the annual regatta each summer.
