Prosperous sits 35 kilometres southwest of Dublin in County Kildare, perfectly placed for travellers heading to Ireland's midlands. Take the M4 to Junction 7, then the R403 south through Clane, or use the scenic R407 from Naas for a lovely 15-kilometre drive through farmland. Despite its modest size, the town has excellent road connections and over 90 fast charging stations nearby for electric cars. The name comes from an ambitious 18th-century cotton factory that promised prosperity but failed spectacularly, though locals kept the optimistic name anyway.
