Portincaple is a small village on Gare Loch's eastern shore, reached via the A814 coastal road. From Glasgow, take the A82 through Dumbarton then the A814 west past Helensburgh (45km total). The village sits opposite the Faslane Naval Base, where Britain's nuclear submarine fleet is stationed.
