Pollagh

Pollagh is a small County Offaly town along the Grand Canal, about 15 kilometres southwest of Tullamore. Take the R357 from Tullamore, or from Dublin follow the M4 to Junction 5, then the N52 south before joining local roads - about an hour and fifteen minutes from the capital. From Galway, head east on the M6 to Athlone, then north through Offaly on regional roads. The restored canal towpath runs right through town, giving walkers and cyclists a grand route along the old commercial waterway that once linked Dublin to the Shannon.
