Poles is a small Highland settlement in Sutherland, reached via the A9 trunk road between Dornoch and Golspie. The area sits on fertile coastal plains near the Dornoch Firth, with good connections to Inverness (70km south) and local communities via minor roads. About 13 fast EV chargers serve the area. The name derives from the Gaelic "poll," meaning pool, reflecting the local landscape of small lochs and waterways.
