Plot Gate lies in rural Somerset between Glastonbury and Yeovil, just off the A37 which connects Bristol to Dorchester. Most visitors arrive via the M5 to A39, then A37 southbound, whilst locals use the B3151 toward Castle Cary and A303. The village sits near RNAS Yeovilton in gently rolling countryside that transitions from the Mendips toward the Somerset Levels. Plot Gate's name derives from medieval field boundaries, with original plot divisions still visible in today's hedgerow patterns.
