Pitt forms part of Winchester's suburban sprawl in the Hampshire chalk downs, connected by the A3090 from the city center 5km away. The M3 at Junction 9 provides the main route for longer journeys, whilst local roads serve daily commuters to nearby Badger Farm and Oliver's Battery. Roman road patterns still influence the winding street layout through these former medieval settlements.
