Peterculter lies 10km west of Aberdeen along the A93 Deeside road, where the River Leuchar meets the Dee. The A93 provides the main route from Aberdeen and continues west toward Royal Deeside, whilst the B9077 offers an alternative through Milltimber. Regular buses serve Aberdeen city centre, and electric vehicle drivers will find over 100 public fast chargers in the greater Aberdeen area. The village's most distinctive feature remains its 45-metre red brick mill chimney, a remnant of the paper mill that operated here from 1751 to 1982.
