Perranwell lies in the Kennal Vale, about 10 kilometres southwest of Truro via the A39 and local roads. Long-distance visitors use the A30 to Carland Cross, then the A39 towards Falmouth. The village sits amongst the wooded valleys of Cornwall's former mining heartland, with narrow lanes connecting to nearby Devoran and Carnon Downs. Perranwell Station remains active on the Maritime Line railway between Truro and Falmouth.
