Penifiler is a small Highland settlement on Skye, just north of Portree via the A855. The village sits on the Trotternish Peninsula with views across to the mainland mountains. It's well-placed for exploring the northern part of the island, including the famous Quiraing rock formations and Staffin Bay. The settlement lies near the dramatic ruins of Duntulm Castle, a clifftop MacDonald stronghold that's become one of Skye's most photographed landmarks.
