Pelaw sits just east of Newcastle in Gateshead, a former industrial area now largely residential. Reach it via the A194, which connects to the A1 about 8km south, or take local routes through Felling and Hebburn. Newcastle airport is 20km northwest. The area has over 400 EV charging points nearby. Popular routes include the quick 5km hop into Newcastle city centre and the 15km coastal run to South Shields. The town's claim to fame is hosting one of northern England's largest IKEA stores.
