Papigoe
Scotland
Scotland
Papigoe perches on Caithness's northeastern cliffs, three kilometres south of Wick via the A99. Long-distance visitors follow the A9 from Inverness (160km), whilst the A99 from John o' Groats makes it a natural stop on the classic end-to-end route. Wick John O'Groats Airport sits nearby, with roughly 8 fast EV chargers in the area. The village name derives from Gaelic "Pap a' Ghobha" - the smith's breast - after the distinctive rounded hill rising behind like an anvil.
