Orphir

Scotland
Orphir lies on Mainland Orkney's southern coast, about 10 miles from Kirkwall via the A964. This quiet spot overlooks Scapa Flow, the wartime naval anchorage, and serves as a gateway to the southern isles through nearby Houton ferry terminal. The village boasts the ruins of Scotland's only surviving round church, a 12th-century structure referenced in the medieval Orkneyinga Saga.
