Ormlie forms part of Thurso's residential sprawl in Scotland's far north, sitting barely a kilometre from the town centre on Caithness's windswept coast. The A99 provides direct access, whilst the A9 brings long-distance traffic from Inverness. Most notable as one of mainland Britain's northernmost suburbs, with Scrabster's Orkney ferry terminal just a short walk away.
