Oragaig perches on Kintyre's eastern coast, gazing across the Sound of Kilbrannan towards Arran. Reached via the A83 from Tarbert, it's perfectly placed for the Claonaig ferry to Arran, just 3km north. The name derives from Gaelic "Obar Geig" - estuary of the creek - where a small burn creates a natural harbour that's sheltered fishing boats for centuries.
