Ongar is a modern suburb in west Dublin that sprang up during the Celtic Tiger years, transforming from farmland into housing estates. Take the N4 westbound from the city center to Junction 4, or hop off the M50 at Junction 7 if you're coming from elsewhere. The R136 cuts through the suburb itself. It's handy for both town and the Wicklow Mountains nearby. The Village Centre's clock tower is the local landmark that helps you get your bearings among all the newer developments.
