Oldham Edge perches on elevated ground northeast of Manchester, accessed via the A663 Rochdale Road and M60 Junction 21. The higher terrain brings cooler, wetter conditions than central Manchester, whilst over 300 EV charging points serve the area. The settlement takes its name from the steep escarpment forming its eastern edge above the Medlock Valley.
