Newburn lies along the Tyne west of Newcastle, connected by the A695 Hexham Road and historic Newburn Bridge. This former industrial village blends residential areas with riverside walks, positioned between Newcastle's outskirts and Northumberland countryside. The A695 links directly to the A1 and A69, whilst local routes serve Throckley and Walbottle. The 15th-century Newburn Hall tower house still dominates the village center.
