Nethermill lies in the Dumfries and Galloway countryside, just 3km from Dumfries itself via the A76. The A75 provides the main east-west route through the region, whilst the A74(M) motorway sits 15km east for connections to Glasgow. Around 25 EV charging points serve the wider area. The village gets its name from the old mill whose stone foundations remain by the burn crossing.
