Nenagh

united kingdom

Nenagh sits at the foot of the Silvermine Mountains in County Tipperary, serving as a handy base for exploring the midlands. The M7 motorway connects it directly to Dublin (159 km) and Limerick (42 km), with good links to Cork and Waterford as well. The town grew around its Norman castle, whose massive circular keep still dominates the center - it's 30 meters tall with walls over four meters thick at the base. Lough Derg lies just 10 kilometers west for boating and fishing, while day trips to the Rock of Cashel are easily done.
