Nar lies in the Pennine foothills between Rochdale and Whitworth, accessible via the A671 and nearby M62. The village sits on elevated ground where industrial valleys meet moorland, with charging points available in surrounding communities. Most notably, sections of the original cobbled packhorse route that carried wool between Pennine mills remain visible on the moors above.
