Mulhuddart

Ireland

Ireland

Mulhuddart's a northwest Dublin suburb that grew rapidly during the boom years, sitting between the M50 and Royal Canal. Take the N3 Navan Road about 12 kilometres from the city centre, or hop off the M50 at Junction 6 if you're coming from further out. It's handy for commuters heading north via the M3 to Meath and beyond. Dublin Airport is 15 kilometres southeast, so you'll get the odd bit of aircraft noise but brilliant transport links. The Royal Canal's 15th lock runs right through the village, with the old stone lock keeper's house still standing beside the towpath that cyclists and walkers use to get into town.
