Muirend occupies Glasgow's southern edge, bordered by Merrylee and Netherlee in the leafy suburbs between the city and East Renfrewshire. The A77 provides the main route through the area, whilst the M77 offers quicker access for longer trips. Glasgow Airport lies 15 kilometres northwest via the M8 and M77. The Victorian railway station, complete with original 1903 canopy ironwork, anchors this residential district on the Glasgow to East Kilbride line.
