Mugeary is a small Highland settlement on Skye's east coast, 11km south of Portree via the A855 and A87. The village sits between rolling hills and the Sound of Raasay, offering mainland views. It's named from Gaelic "Machair Ghearraidh," meaning the fertile coastal grassland that still defines this quiet stretch of Skye's shoreline.
